Yarn Dyeing FAQs
What is the process to start matching colors?
Please submit a color standard and complete the form linked below.
Do you allow commission dye?
Yes, we welcome commission dye programs. If we do not currently carry the yarn you require, we can work under a commission dye framework.
Can you dye fiber?
Yes. We dye combed top fiber in a 400 mm dyeable bump format with a center hole for spindle processing.
What type of dye services do you offer?
We offer package dyeing and top-dyed fiber, along with additional capabilities such as space dyeing, tow dyeing, and fiber twisting to support a wide range of product and performance requirements.
Can MSYG dye stretch yarns?
No. MSYG cannot dye stretch or flat yarns. However, we can dye textured nylon and polyester.
Which substrates can MSYG dye?
We can dye almost any textile substrate. We most commonly work with the following substrates:
- Acrylic
- Bamboo
- Lyocell (Tencel)
- Cotton
- Flax blends
- Nylon
- Organic cotton
- Polyester
- Rayon
- Wool/wool blends

Spinning FAQs
What are your spinning minimums?
1,000 pounds for 1s through 12s and 3,000 pounds for 14s through 38s.
Do you process fleeces?
No, we can only accept fiber that is clean and combed top.
Do you offer commission spinning?
Yes, we can commission spin fiber that is clean and combed top. Contact us for more details.
Can I purchase yarn from you that is ready to ship to my customers?
Yes. We offer full package spinning, including labeling and finishing, for all of our yarns.
What fiber blends do you spin?
We spin a variety of fiber blends with a minimum of 40% wool in the blend for staple length purposes. Fiber blends we support include:
- Wool/nylon
- Wool/rayon
- Wool/silk
- Wool/cashmere
- Wool/alpaca
- Wool/linen
- Wool/Stellina
- Acrylic
- Polyester
- Nylon
What fibers do you spin?
We spin fibers with staple lengths between four and six inches (most commonly acrylic and wool).
What is your yarn count range for spinning?
